Gilded Black Quilled Cat | Gilded Scrollwork

Look at this gorgeous Gilded Black Quilled Cat! I have been hoarding a ton of gilded paper from JJ Quilling for the past few years. I guess in my head since it was so expensive and they’re so far away, I need to use it sparingly. Well, that is a thing of the past. There is no sense having such gorgeous paper in my collection if I don’t make things with it. So I started with this stunning gold-gilded black scrollwork cat.

The one thing I will say about this paper is that it’s not the easiest to work with. The gilding has a tendency to make your coils stays tighter and less likely to expand. Any kink or curl stays put. But, the advantage to this is that while your making the scrolls, they don’t move! LOL I have several shades of this paper and I’m thinking about making a copper colored one next.

I have never made cats in advance before as I’ve always thought of them as a custom item, but Mother’s Day is coming up and as a result, I am stockpiling a few – just in case.

This beautiful Gilded Black Quilled Cat is available for adoption. And, if he isn’t the purrfect addition to your family, check out the other cats I have available on Etsy. Before you head off, check out my Scrollwork Cat Gallery.
