I”m not sure if this was the very first large quilled rainbow spiral I made, or if it was the second. I have made so many at this point that they all blend in together in my mind.
I’m pretty sure that this is the second one as the first flew off to the UK before I discovered the joy of DSLR photography. Before that point, I was taking cell phone pictures of my artwork and have since lost many of the photos.
If this is the second spiral, it went to a customer in New Hampshire (I think). I have made a few large ones and each time changed up the colors I used.
I don’t know what inspired me to make one the first time, other than loving rainbows and wanting a simple design that I could quickly bang out for customers. Well, let’s just say that oddly enough, the rainbow spirals take far longer to make than most of my other “quick” pieces!
You can see my other rainbow pieces by going to my Quilled Rainbow Gallery.
I currently have two rainbow items available on my Etsy shop. The first is a small framed rainbow spiral (ready to ship) and the second is a beginner’s tutorial on a simple rainbow spiral.
