Purple Gothic Flower Abstract

I created this Black & Purple Gothic Flower Abstract way back in 2014. I am pretty sure that I found something similar on the internet and made my own version of it. At the time I was pretty impressed with the whole wrapping technique!

Techniques

This piece is around 5″ x 7″ and I used all 1/4″ paper for it. The arms were made with very large teardrops that I wrapped with black strips after they were made. Wrapping after the fact keeps the outline/wrap paper from separating into coils. The most difficult part was keeping the arms in their positions. I’m pretty sure that I did this the hard way by holding each arm in my fingers (both hands) while the glue that I smeared on the undersides dried.
